At the same time, this doesn't mean that leagalizing drugs will reduce all violence (I have heard that arguement from some prominent criminologistis). I will never forget the D-town homicide project. Even though I didn't work on the project, I will never forget the senseless acts of violence. Killing the guy at the liquor store because he bumped into you. Someone should make a post about their 'favorite' cases from this project.
That's a lousy argument, IMO. Know what else would reduce firearm violence? Getting rid of firearms! (Though, according to the article you posted, it would just be replaced by knife violence...)
