So, thanks to you guys for inviting me to write for the GBOC blog. What do I bring to the table? Well, I'm a bit of a sports nut, so I've decided that I will primarily write about the intersection of athletics and crime. There is certainly a lot of material in that particular area. Just in the last year I could have touched on: (1) steroids; (2) Michael Vick; (3) the notion of violence on the playing surface as criminal activity (e.g. Jose Offerman); (4) sexual violence perpetrated by athletes; (5) violence perpetrated against athletes; and (6) a variety of DUIs and other drug/alcohol-fueled illegal behavior.
So, that's what I anticipate for my contribution to this little corner of the web. That won't be all that I write about, but it will be the majority of the content. I don't know how often I will write, but I guarantee that when I do, it will be interesting.
