So I was watching TV tonight when a commercial came on for this website that immediately made me think of Patch & Pap.
Did you know that McGruff the Crime Dog* now fights cybercrime? (He takes a "byte" out of cybercrime. Cute, huh?)
For some strange reason, seeing this new "high tech" version of McGruff made me feel rather old. What's next: son of O.G. Readmore?
*P.S. You all can thank me later for getting that song stuck in your head:

Users are losers,
and losers are users.
So don't use drugs.
Don't use drugs!

OK, I have to admit having no idea who O.G. Reader is. Easy Reader (aka "Red") is more about my generation.

LOL! Captain O.G. Readmore was the star of a series of PSAs in the 80s that encouraged kids to, well, read more.
I used to watch the Electric Company, too, though in reruns in the late 70s and early 80s. ("We're gonna turn it on....We're gonna bring you the POW-er!") I have very vivid memories of the clip with the two silhouettes forming various words. You know:
c-an...can!
c-up...cup!
