Thoughts on the Sotomayor selection? I'm reading various analyses and will post comments soon. For now, though, I'll say that a female nominee is not much of a surprise.

I think it is a great choice. She is a tough well educated person with a tremendous amount of experience.
I wasn't very familiar with the lighting-rod Ricci case before today, so I read up about it a bit. Overall I am pleased with the selection, and agree that it puts the GOP in a bind: they can either alienate Hispanics and women by strongly contesting the nomination, or alienate their ultra-conservative base by failing to strongly contest it. A rock and a hard place, I'd say.
Also, on a lighter note, I enjoyed reading the interest groups' reactions to the nomination. Pretty predictable stuff.
P.S. Re-reading my comment, it sounds as though I am pleased by the nomination because it puts the GOP in a tough spot. That's not the case -- those were two distinct (and poorly-separated) thoughts!
